Has it really been almost two months since my last post? Prepping for leaving the country sure keeps a girl busy! Last week I arrived back home from my belated honeymoon in Jamaica, and I
cannot wait to share pictures! They will come in a later post though, as today I want to share 10 of my favorite ways to make my day a little brighter. Sometimes we need a little pick-me-up, and for me, these
always do the trick!
1. Treat Yourself to Coffee or Tea
If I'm ever lagging, I know a Starbucks run will wake me up
and put a smile on my face. Win win!
2. Watch "Dirty Dancing"
Dirty Dancing is my go-to movie anytime I want to have something on in the background (like when I'm folding clothes for instance.) It always puts me in a good mood-- even when doing laundry!
3. Paint Your Nails
The finished result always makes me feel a little more put-together. Plus, I love choosing colors! The color below is "Off The Shoulder" by Essie, which I have and love!
4. Go For a Walk
Just being outside in general usually puts be in a good mood, so going for a walk is always a good idea. I have two dogs as well who enjoy walks even more than I do, so our evening walks are a highlight for all in my little family.
5. Read
I enjoy letting myself escape reality for a little while.
6. Reminisce
I tend to be a very nostalgic person, so I enjoy looking at old photographs of good memories to put a smile on my face.
7. Bake Something
I really enjoy baking, and eating the goodies afterward is pretty great too. (P.S. These brownies are quite possibly the best brownies. Ever. Recipe below courtesy of Smells Like Home!)
8. Cross Things Off Your To-Do List
While I am pretty good at procrastinating, my mood improves when I get things done. I'm a constant list-maker, so crossing things off is extremely gratifying.
9. Call a Friend
I definitely have friends where just talking to them on the phone for a few minutes improves my mood.
10. Try Something New
I love trying new things. Even something as small as trying out a new recipe. Don't have the resources to accomplish this? Make plans to try something new! Sometimes planning can be just as enjoyable as the doing!
And there they are, 10 simple ways to improve your mood. AND, tomorrow is Friday. Now there is an eleventh thing that makes me happy :)
